Fix for Apple Watch won't show up as an option to unlock your mac

My new Apple Watch Ultra would not show up as an option for a watch that could automatically unlock my iMac. I tried many fixes but what eventually worked was removing old Apple Watch devices from my iCloud account. After I did that and went back into the Mac security settings it let me turn on unlock with Apple Watch and the new Apple Watch started unlocking the Mac again.
